After the traditional Friday night sushi outing, I headed out to SOMA to catch We Are Scientists and The Artic Monkeys. I got there right on time because no sooner than I found a good spot on the floor, WAS came out to rawk us for these songs…
Keith and the boys changed the set list a bit so that was cool since I just saw them a week and a half ago at Indie Jam. I have to say that I am not getting tired of them at all. The sounded great and were having a good time so that meant I did too.
The set change was interminable and somewhere along the way, I got really restless and my right foot started feeling funny. I don’t know if it was my shoes….I wore flats which is rare and for us people who wear heels all the time, wearing flats can actually strain our foot muscles. So I was getting increasingly uncomfortable and almost just bailed right there. I ended up giving myself until 10.30, which was good.
When the Artic Monkeys finally came out, I was expecting them to keep the dancy vibe going. But no, they started out slow. Yawn. Once things sped up I was fine. I did get to catch them doing “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” which was good, but I honestly thought that the place would be rawking that song way harder.
So they were way better than I thought they would be (probably because 91X was broadcasting live and I think 94/9 was talking about having the show available online), but I wasn’t that impressed. But it’s a wash for me overall since WAS rawked me.
And now I am going to bed, I am way more tired than I thought I would be and I have a long day tomorrow, so I better hit it.
